Behringer, Midas und Klark Teknik unter einem Dach

Die Music Group Ltd. hat mit der Bosch-Gruppe eine Vereinbarung unterzeichnet, um deren Marken Midas und Klark Teknik zu übernehmen. Das gab das Unternehmen heute auf seiner Website http://www.music-group.net bekannt. Der Kauf soll bis zum 31. Januar 2010 abgeschlossen sein.

Mit ihrer über vierzigjährigen Geschichte zählen die Mischpulte von Midas und das Outboard von Klark Teknik zu den renommiertesten Produkten im ProAudio-Sektor.

When Bosch bought Telex FOH (and me personally) took a lot of heat for having the balls to stand up and say that Bosch obviously had no interest in Midas. That EV and Telex made sense but to expect to see them sell off Midas. We intimated the same thing when Bosch quietly got rid of all Midas/KT distribution worldwide earlier this year. And today the thing that they all told us we were nuts for even thinking happened.

To quote the happy horse-poop corporate press release:

Kidderminster, UK - Midas and Klark Teknik, business lines within Bosch Communications
Systems, today announced that the Music Group has been selected as their new long term investment partners. The Music Group owns the Behringer brand as well as a number of other
associated companies and is managed by Uli Behringer and Michael Deeb.

The sale of Midas and Klark Teknik is part of an asset deal and an agreement to
this effect was signed on 8thof December 2009. The sale is subject
to regulatory approval. Acquisition price and terms have not been disclosed.

In other words as ling as no regulatory agency puts the kibosh on it. Midas/KT will be owned and run by Behringer.

The Music Group has announced the departure of Michael Deeb from the roles of group CEO and director. Uli Behringer and Arie van den Broek will lead the group on an interim basis as it searches for a permanent CEO replacement. Arie van den Broek has previously served Behringer as CEO for several years.
