    Hallo,

stimmt es das Bose über ein Patent auf das 5th Order Bandpassgehäuse verfügt?
Wurde dieses denn wirklich von Bose erfunden?

Wenn ja, weiß jemand, ob das Patent auch in Deutschland besteht?

    Hallo,
    ja,es stimmt:

    Parallel Double-Tuned Bandpass Box

A parallel double-tuned bandpass box differs from a single-tuned bandpass box in that all of its chambers are vented.

Because the chambers on each side of the driver are tuned to different frequencies the design is “double-tuned”. Because all chambers vent to the outside, the tuning is “parallel”. Parallel double-tuned bandpass boxes have an asymmetrical response with a 4th order or 24 dB/octave cutoff rate for the low-frequency response and a 2nd order or 12 dB/octave cutoff rate for the upper-frequency response. Important: Bose Corporation of Framingham, Massachusetts, U.S.A., owns a patent (U.S. Patent 4,549,631 issued 29-Oct-85) covering double-tuned bandpass boxes. Construction of a double-tuned bandpass box may infringe their patent rights.
    Series Double-Tuned Bandpass Box

A series double-tuned bandpass box is similar to a parallel double-tuned bandpass box except that the low-frequency vent is enclosed inside the box. It is mounted in the wall that separates the chambers. This is the same inner wall to which the driver is mounted.

Because the low-frequency vent feeds into the upper-frequency chamber, the only way for sound to leave the box is through the upper-frequency vent, placing the low-frequency vent in “series” with the upper-frequency vent. Series double-tuned bandpass boxes are generally considered to be less desirable than their parallel counterparts. However, they can be useful when parallel vents are not physically possible because of design constraints. Important: Bose Corporation of Framingham, Massachusetts, U.S.A., owns a patent (U.S. Patent 4,549,631 issued 29-Oct-85) covering double-tuned bandpass boxes. Construction of a double-tuned bandpass box may infringe their patent rights.

Nach sowas kannst Du immer in

    http://www.depatisnet.de

    suchen.

In diesem Fall muß mann sich darum nicht mehr kümmern, weil nach dem Anmeldedatum das Patent schon abgelaufen ist.
