    1. LEDs werden auch sehr warm. Das aufwendige bei der Entwicklung von LED Leuchten ist die Kühlung, da der Wirkungsgrad bei steigender Temperatur abnimmt. Die Halbleitertemperatur darf auch 150°C nicht übersteigen.
    Das merkt man auch an dem Wirkungsgrad. Normale Halogelampen haben einen wirkungsgrad von etwa 15lumen/W. Weiße LEDs (z.B. Luxeon 1W) von etwa 22lumen/W.

    Was richtig ist, das nach vorne (in "Lichtrichtung") kaum Infrarot Strahlung abgegeben wird.

    Wo LEDs allerdings ihre vorteile haben sind Farbiges Licht (es muss nichts gefiltert werden) und an stellen wo es auf lange lebensdauer (bis 100.000Stunden) ankommt.
